Northern Plains style moccasins

This is a two-piece hard-sole moccasins. The vamp is decorated in Blackfeet style, but the technique (lazy stitch) is rather typical for the Gros Ventre, Assiniboine or Sioux tribes. The geometric design - cross and stepped figures - looks more like the work of an Assiniboine but when I made it I belived it's Blackfeet ;)

This type of moccasins have been very popular during period 1890-1930.

Culture: American Northern Plains
Material: Brain tanned hide, old glass beads, red wool and calico
Dimensions: long: 11 inch, 28 cm
